As reported last month, the City is nearing completion of the North Torrey Pines Bridge project. The bridge contractor is completing the remaining surface and roadway improvements in March. The City also received word that this project was selected as the “Outstanding Project” in the bridge category from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The City is honored that this project was awarded this achievement and is excited to complete this important project to preserve the historic character of the bridge. The City is hosting a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. to commemorate the project completion. More details about the ribbon cutting will be posted on the City’s website.

The City is pleased to announce that the sidewalk, street, and drainage project is underway! This project will provide for substantial improvements to fix pedestrian path issues, encourage walkability, address drainage issues, and improve streets. The project began in the Beach Colony area. The City will be completing installation of the City’s approved Camino del Mar Streetscape Plan from 22nd Street to the San Dieguito Bridge, filling in missing curbs and gutters, installing bulb-outs, pedestrian ramps, and sidewalks, and roadway improvements along Camino del Mar. Thank you for your anticipated patience as there may be periodic interruptions related to the construction work.
